Geislingen, 11th December 2015
The manufacturer of rear lamps from Geislingen was presented with the TPM AWARD in December 2015, a distinction which is awarded to companies which are safeguarding the future optimally.
TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) stands for the increase of the machine availability and the machine efficiency by systematically reducing stoppages and losses. Special emphasis lies on the optimization of the production processes. This is achieved by small teams, which are working in defined areas on the improvement of the facilities and the machines and exert a direct influence on the creation of lean production processes. The entire staff is integrated in this project. The aim is to guarantee the constant operational capability of all production facilities. Continuous standardized documentations and workflows ensure the high quality demand on the products and offer maximum flexibility in the application of employees.
At the location Geislingen the maintenance and repair costs could be decreased by 30% while increasing the process performance by more than 15%. The three-year project was accompanied and successfully audited by the international TPM Institute in Pennsylvania/USA. The effective implementation of the project enables new chances in the highly competitive market of the supplier industry and increases the competitiveness of the location. The odelo Germany GmbH is prepared for the future and from now on it can reorganize itself against the challenges of the market of automobile suppliers.
